Doesn't matter if they're the slot loading kind Apple prefers or tray loading like most everyone else uses, they fail. I go straight for Repair. Click on your Hard drive partition "Macintosh (or what ever you renamed yours too)"3. I ran Repair Permissions again and restarted, but this time it made no difference - the next attempt failed also. As before, iTunes indicated that the CD was being initialized, then it displayed "Burning "Title of Song #1' ", it stayed there forever and just spun its wheels. You have to pick carefully." And oh boy, there are thousands of good ideas I could be focusing on as well…! Things always appear difficult when you don't know how, but of course they are easy to the professional. Have you reset the PRAM?

I tried the external drive on my bride's macbook pro 15 and it works with no problem, so I know that drive works. The problem is with dual layer discs.
